As part of our Right here Right Now Planning we concentrate on the children's interests.
One of the children had heard on the radio on the way into nursery about Tim Peake going up in a rocket and was telling everyone about it.
With this in mind we made a lovely big rocket out of a big box and used it for role play through out the day. Alongside this we drew a big moon and let the children walk on it creating foot prints using paint.
Our Little Explorers really enjoyed joining Tim Peake on his journey in the rocket for a walk on the moon.
This interest followed on the next day by reading Aliens love underpants with the children creating there own aliens for a lovely display. The children also made all the different planets.
Not only did the children really enjoy this but gained some fantastic learning opportunities from this.
