Swinton Little Explorers Nursery

We have worked hard to offer childcare that is a little different than others. Gone are the bright primary colours and cluttered spaces; in are the natural materials and creepy crawlies. Come to see us yourself as we have an open door policy with very welcoming staff.

For information about the curriculum and nutrition, to read testimonials from our parents and to view copies of all our policies, please visit the about us section.

Our team of ‘Little Explorers’ nursery staff are highly experienced. All staff are skilled in expertly guiding your child through the wonders of learning whilst playing. Staff are also trained to support children with additional needs and English as an Additional Language.

We provide ongoing training for our staff to constantly update their own skills and abilities. Our staff are passionate and committed to creating an atmosphere of care and respect which radiates throughout this happy nursery and is led by our dedicated and enthusiastic management team.

Daily Routine 0-2 years

Each child has a key worker who is assigned to support their development and build relationships between nursery and home. Your child’s daily information and interests will be recorded in a diary that is taken home every night, parents/carers are encouraged to write in information that can be used at nursery. All children have a learning journey that contains observations, which are used to help track your child’s development, these can be viewed and discussed at any time.

Daily and weekly planning is carried out from observations and your child’s next steps; this enables us to plan focused activities. We celebrate all festivals from different cultures, which include food tasting, and role-play; this gives the children a wide range of understanding of the world.

Toddlers are encouraged to discover their surroundings and to take part in experiences such as games, music & movement, baking and storytelling.

Our aim is to encourage children to feel confident and valued, a child will never be pushed to begin the fundamentals of a more formal education, however, staff will take every opportunity to encourage and guide them when they feel that they are ready.
